Counter Hit Network
Building a more inclusive & Safe Fighting Game Community.
Our Mission
The Counter Hit Network (CHN) was founded on a vision:
"To create a more accessible, inclusive, and supportive Fighting Game Community where players of all backgrounds and skill levels can thrive and feel safe."
The Network aims to foster safer environments for women and the LGBTQ+ community in tournament settings. By providing a platform for connection, networking, and camaraderie both online and offline, we strengthen inclusivity and promote safer spaces within the FGC. This initiative enhances the overall tournament experience for women and marginalized groups by reducing harassment and discrimination and encouraging comprehensive codes of conduct that prioritize safe spaces.
Our Core Initiatives
Fostering Inclusive & Safe Spaces
Ensuring events and FGC spaces are welcoming, respectful, and harassment-free.
We prioritize creating environments where all players feel safe, respected, and valued. Our events are designed to be harassment-free, with strict codes of conduct and a strong emphasis on inclusivity for players from all backgrounds. Safety is a top priority, and we hope to provide resources and support to ensure that everyone can participate without fear of discrimination or harassment.
Building a Support Network
Connecting players to look out for each other and create a stronger, safer community.
We believe in the power of community to foster safety and support. Our initiative connects players to create a network where everyone looks out for each other, both in and out of the tournament setting. This network provides a platform for players to share experiences, offer advice, and provide mentorship to newcomers. By building strong connections, we ensure that all players, especially those from marginalized groups, have a reliable support system that helps
Providing Safety Resources & Guidance
Offering information on event safety, personal well-being, and dealing with harassment.
This initiative prioritizes the safety and well-being of all players by offering resources that help navigate potential challenges, such as harassment or uncomfortable situations. We provide clear guidelines for reporting harassment and getting help when needed. The Counter Hit Network are designed with a focus on creating a supportive environment, where players feel empowered to speak up and seek assistance. Additionally, we provide resources on mental health and personal well-being to help players thrive both in and out of the game.
Promoting Safety & Well-being
Encouraging tournaments' and their organizers to prioritize player safety and sportsmanship.
The Network works to ensure that player safety and well-being are always prioritized. We promote a culture of respect and mental health awareness by encouraging positive behavior both online and at events. Through our buddy system, players are paired up to attend tournaments together, providing a support network that encourages safety in numbers. Additionally, we provide resources on mental health, harassment prevention, and coping strategies to foster a community where players feel both physically and emotionally supported.
Challenging Toxicity & Harmful Behavior
Taking a stand against harassment and other harmful actions.
The Network takes a strong stand against toxicity, harassment, and harmful behavior. We have a zero-tolerance policy for any form of discrimination, bullying, or negative actions that create an unsafe environment for players. Our community actively calls out harmful behavior and provides support to those who experience harassment. We also educate players on how to handle and report inappropriate conduct. Through these efforts, we strive to create a culture where all players, regardless of background or experience, feel valued and respected.
Tag-Team System for Tournament Safety
Pairing up players to attend tournaments together for safety, support, and camaraderie.
The Network introduces 'Tag-Team Safety' to provide a sense of security and camaraderie for players attending tournaments. Through this program, we pair players up to attend events together, ensuring they have support both on and off the stage. Having a teammate can make all the difference in navigating the competitive scene safely. 'Tag-Team Safety' encourages players to watch out for each other, share experiences, and create bonds that extend beyond the tournament floor. It's all about ensuring players feel supported in a positive environment where they can thrive, with added peace of mind knowing they’re not alone in the fight.
